Identity is multi-dimensional. It can be described in various terms both individually and observationally. In Western society key signifiers and a binary system are used to define something by what it is not and to establish parameters for what it can be identified as. This system prescribes and subscribes one's identity as well as those around him/her. This work is an exploration of those signifiers in relation to the systems of place, family and gender.
